Azul’s Smile Story
Azul’s parents want the best for their beautiful child. But they didn’t know how to help her when her tooth didn’t come in.
Azul also didn’t understand why her front tooth wouldn’t come in. When other kids at school asked here when her front tooth would come in, she would remain quiet.
When Azul stopped smiling in pictures or enjoying school as much as other children, her parents booked a free consultation at our Goodyear office.
During her consultation, we discovered the following problems:
- Constricted upper arch leading to a lack of space
- Impacted upper incisor due to lack of space
- Severe upper and lower dental crowding
- Poor oral hygiene due to dental crowding
Azul’s story isn’t too different from many other children who lack confidence because of their teeth. So, we welcomed her in our office and this is how we helped her with her impacted front tooth.
Our Treatment Plan
We created a custom treatment plan for Azul. A rapid palatal expander was the centerpiece of her interceptive Phase I treatment.
Treatment Plan:
- Appliances used: Rapid Palatal Expander and Lower Holding Arch
- Palatal Expander activated 2x/day for 10 days
- Limited upper braces will be attached once the tooth comes in
- Total expected treatment time: 12 months
- Adjustment visits every 4 weeks
Treatment Result:
- Beautifully expanded upper jaw
- Impacted incisor has enough space to erupt
- Increased space for remaining adult teeth
- Upper midline improvement
Azul can already see a difference in her teeth and she is excited to see the tooth erupt into its proper position!
She can now proudly tell kids at school that she will soon have braces to help the impacted tooth come in.
Her parents are equally impressed with the result so far!
